Scope and our commitment

This Privacy Policy describes how KUMIO (“KUMIO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use our applications, websites, support channels, and related services (together, the “Service”).

Your memory stays yours. KUMIO does not sell personal information. We do not use your personal memories to train artificial-intelligence models for other users, and we do not allow our service providers to do so.

What we collect and process

The information KUMIO processes depends on the features you choose to use:

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your use of the Service, from providers you connect, and from payment or app-store partners that confirm your subscription status.

How we use information

Where required, we rely on your consent. In other cases, processing is necessary to provide the Service you request, fulfill our contract with you, comply with law, or pursue legitimate interests such as security and product reliability while considering your rights.

Artificial-intelligence processing

KUMIO uses artificial-intelligence and automated systems to transcribe, organize, connect, search, and retrieve information you save. To perform a request, relevant portions of Your Content may be securely sent to specialized service providers acting for KUMIO.

Those providers may process the information only to deliver contracted services to KUMIO and under applicable data-protection terms. Your personal memories are not used to train models for other users. Automated results can be incomplete or incorrect, so important information should be verified before you rely on it.

When information is shared

We disclose personal information only as needed for the following purposes:

We do not sell your memories or personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information and Your Content while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service. Different categories may be kept for different periods based on their purpose. For example, transaction records may be retained to meet tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal obligations.

You may delete individual memories through available product controls and may request deletion of your account. When deletion is requested and verified, we delete or de-identify covered information from active systems within a reasonable period, unless retention is required by law, necessary to resolve disputes or security incidents, or otherwise permitted under this Policy. Copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary course.

Account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Stripe or an app store. Cancel recurring billing through the same platform used to subscribe.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information we process, including access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, and restricted provider access. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your sign-in method, use a secure device, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision regarding a privacy request. You may exercise available controls in KUMIO or contact us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

You can manage notification permissions in your device settings, disconnect supported integrations, and cancel recurring billing through the platform where you subscribed. Withdrawing permission for a feature may prevent that feature from working but does not affect processing already completed lawfully.

Authorized agents may submit requests where local law permits. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Children and international transfers

KUMIO is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who cannot legally consent. If you believe a child has provided information in violation of this Policy, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

KUMIO and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, and apply this Policy regardless of where processing occurs.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as KUMIO evolves or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date shows when it was most recently revised. If a change materially affects your privacy rights, we will provide reasonable advance notice through the Service, email, or another appropriate channel.
